Judy Algar – Welfare officer for children’s gymnastics at Allegro Gymnastic Academy.
My career pathway is of a Children’s Registered Nurse – for the past 35 years at Northern Lincolnshire and Goole Hospitals NHS Trust. During that time, I have worked in clinical and managerial roles. These roles have developed myself as a person dedicated to the needs of the children I pas in everyday life. My career has gained me life-saving skills and I also organise workshops on different areas of first aid and help educate parents.
I worked as the Matron for Children’s Services for many years which gave me skills in managing teams and producing the most effectiveness out of my staff and departments. I have organised seminars in various hospital across the area and gives me an opportunity to show my administrational and computer skills.
I have since taken my pension early so that I could child mind my Grandchildren.
I now work part time as a Senior Staff Nurse with a lead for practice development. I am child protection level three competent and I am also competent in children’s advanced life support. I take my grandchildren regularly to gymnastics and I am actively involved with supporting the group.
