I started gymnastics as I remember being at school and I saw someone do a cartwheel and I said to myself ‘I want to learn how to do that!’. After competing and doing gymnastics for a couple of years, I felt that I wanted to move on, however I didn’t want to leave the sport. So it was suggested that I become a coach; to not only be able to learn about a different to gymnastics, but also to improve my confidence as well. Becoming a coach was one of the best decision I made, it really brought me out of my comfort zone (in a good way) and I’ve learnt so much about not only the sport, but about myself. Coaching even inspired me to pursue a career in teaching, I’m currently studying for a degree in education to hopefully become a teacher!
