Gymnastics has been in my life since I was 4. I started out in Badge 6 where very quickly I became recognised by the squad coaches. At the age of 6 I was put in the under 8’s competition classes training 3 days a week by the one and only Miss Allison Hickling. Allison has always pushed me to be my best , yes it was hard work but because of that I competed at competitions all over Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. I was picked as part of a team by my club to go to LillyShall gymnastics club in Newport and inverclyde gymnastics club in largs to train with some of the best coaches within British Gymnastics. I also had an amazing opportunity to train in Garden State Gymnastics club in America for almost 3 weeks as part of a special trip organised by our coaches. I became club champion at the age of 21 which is when I decided to give up the sport competitively. 14 years on I have now completed my Level 1 and 2 women’s Artistic, Level 1 Mens Artistic, level 1 Preschool and also Club Judge qualifications. I will continue to work hard and definitely be adding to my list of qualifications including Level 3 Womens Artistic, Level 2 Preschool and also Regional Judge. I have and always will love this amazing sport not only because of what I have achieved as a gymnast but what I can pass onto our aspiring gymnasts as their coach and mentor.
